Making Wrapping Paper

Christmas does seem to involve a lot of spending of money on items that essentially just get thrown away…one such item is wrapping paper…I dread to think how much I’ve spent on that over the years! I have noticed, however, that certain mail order companies use loads of packing paper in their delivery boxes…so, over the last few months I have been saving this paper as a means to making my own wrapping paper.

Starting a new art journal

“No, this is not the beginning of a new chapter in my life; this is the beginning of a new book! That first book is already closed, ended, and tossed into the seas; this new book is newly opened, has just begun! Look, it is the first page! And it is a beautiful one!”

In this heart

My love

– Sinead O’Connor

I’ve been a bit preoccupied with hearts lately…drawing them, painting them, collaging them. I like creating the shape of a heart, freehand, quick and spontaneous, and then filling it with colour, texture and pattern.

Squiggles and blobs

I have never seen myself as an artist in the traditional sense of the word, but I have always enjoyed playing around with pens and paint, especially at school and then when my children were small. Although I’ve never really stopped making things, since last Christmas, I have increasingly been incorporating some form of “artwork” into my daily life.
