Regent’s Canal Walk, Part 2

After enjoying our first canal walk a couple of weeks ago, we embarked on a new one yesterday, starting from Camden Road station and following the towpath from Camden Lock Market. We used the Jubilee Greenway route guide from Transport for London (Section 3) as our reference, which takes you through Camden, King’s Cross, Barnsbury, Islington, Hackney and Bethnal Green.

Regent’s Canal Walk, Part 1

Gosh, it has been absolutely ages since I have written a post on here! I have no excuses, just life! Anyhow, this post is about a trip on Saturday we did to a part of London we had never been to before. The Regent’s Canal Walk, as part of the Jubilee Greenway, takes you through Little Venice, past Regent’s Park and London Zoo, finishing at Camden Town.

Unfortunately, we didn’t quite complete this walk, because one of my sandals started to fall apart as we were going past Regent’s Park, so we did a detour that involved meandering around Primrose Hill, before getting to Chalk Farm tube station to go home.

GoGo Dragons in Norwich

A few weeks ago, we went to Norwich for the day to find some dragons…GoGo Dragons, to be exact…there are 84 of these art sculptures across the city. Obviously, we weren’t able to see all of them, but we managed a good number…38!

Shaun in the City: Timmy’s Trail

Last week, we not only did Timmy’s Trail but also The Farmer’s Lost Sheep of Shaun in the City. It made for a rather long but enjoyable day. The photos on this post are from Timmy’s Trail, which took us from the London Eye to Covent Garden.

Shaun in the City: Shaun’s Trail

Hooray, another set of outdoor sculptures to find…this time Shaun the Sheep (created by Aardman) is popping up all across London in a project called Shaun in the City. Last Thursday, we did the first one, Shaun’s Trail, which took us from Oxford Circus, down Regent Street, through Piccadilly Circus, China Town, Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square, and finishing at the Mall.

Bloomsbury: Books About Town

Early last week, we did our fourth (and final) Books About Town trail in London. This one was around the Bloomsbury area, running from Long Acre up to Tavistock Place. I’ve really enjoyed doing these trails, especially as I got to see parts of London I hadn’t seen before. Photos of the other book bench trails: Greenwich, Riverside and The City. Many thanks for visiting!

The City: Books About Town

Amazingly, I had the energy to do another book bench trail at the beginning of this week. I managed to complete the City Trail of Books About Town. This is the third one I’ve done, following the Greenwich and Riverside trails. Thank you for visiting 🙂

Riverside: Books About Town

End of last week, we did the Riverside Trail, part of Books About Town. We did the Greenwich Trail the other week. This time we managed to get all of them which was rather wonderful! There is a lot going on around this part of London at the moment…two that stood out for me…Festival of Love at South Bank and the Matisse Cut Outs exhibition at the Tate Modern (which I really want to see). As always, thank you for visiting 🙂
