A few weeks ago, we went to Norwich for the day to find some dragons…GoGo Dragons, to be exact…there are 84 of these art sculptures across the city. Obviously, we weren’t able to see all of them, but we managed a good number…38!
Hooray, another set of outdoor sculptures to find…this time Shaun the Sheep (created by Aardman) is popping up all across London in a project called Shaun in the City. Last Thursday, we did the first one, Shaun’s Trail, which took us from Oxford Circus, down Regent Street, through Piccadilly Circus, China Town, Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square, and finishing at the Mall.
Early last week, we did our fourth (and final) Books About Town trail in London. This one was around the Bloomsbury area, running from Long Acre up to Tavistock Place. I’ve really enjoyed doing these trails, especially as I got to see parts of London I hadn’t seen before. Photos of the other book bench trails: Greenwich, Riverside and The City. Many thanks for visiting!
End of last week, we did the Riverside Trail, part of Books About Town. We did the Greenwich Trail the other week. This time we managed to get all of them which was rather wonderful! There is a lot going on around this part of London at the moment…two that stood out for me…Festival of Love at South Bank and the Matisse Cut Outs exhibition at the Tate Modern (which I really want to see). As always, thank you for visiting 🙂
This is rather long overdue blog post! Last August, the kids and I took a day trip to Norwich. Despite having had holidays in Norfolk in the past, I had never visited the county city. An added attraction was the GoGo Gorilla art trail which was taking place in Norfolk during the summer.
Earlier this week, we went into Greenwich to seek out book benches…Books About Town is a set of four trails in London that feature bench sculptures shaped as open books. We got to see almost all of them at Greenwich…the last one was just too far for my little legs and sore feet. Enjoy the photos…I’m planning the next one to do 🙂
