Making Wrapping Paper

Christmas does seem to involve a lot of spending of money on items that essentially just get thrown away…one such item is wrapping paper…I dread to think how much I’ve spent on that over the years! I have noticed, however, that certain mail order companies use loads of packing paper in their delivery boxes…so, over the last few months I have been saving this paper as a means to making my own wrapping paper.

Stamp carving

I have been having a lot of fun recently with my latest obsession…stamp carving…essentially it involves making your own rubber stamps, using a lino cutter and carving blocks.

Gelli plate printing

Last week I took an online introductory class on printing with a gelli plate. A gelli plate is a big rectangle made of a gelatin-like substance that you use as a basis for monoprinting. More details can be found on the manufacturer’s website.
